Growth charts

Week 26

This week's project was fun and easy to do, giving me a break from my manual labor projects recently. I made a Lion King growth chart for one of my girlfriend's baby shower. She is due just 10 days before me and their nursery theme is Lion King. It turned out pretty cute.
I used a 6 ft piece of wood, acrylic paint,  and wall decals to complete the look. The wall decals are nice because they can be rearranged and as he or she gets older and the theme of their room changes,  so can the theme of the growth chart.  This idea broadens my market and I will be able to appeal to all kinds of themes for future special orders.  I also made a new one for my boys with their names on it. Mine stays in my living room so I have a more neutral theme for mine.
Growth charts prices start at $20. Contact me to order your special and unique one today!

Bar Stool End Table

Week 25

This week I turned a couple of old garage sale wooden bar stools into a couple of vibrant end tables for my backyard deck. I used the leftover exterior primer and paint that I used for my recent blue and green outside furniture projects and some rope for the shelves. As my pregnancy gets further along, I'm finding that it is getting harder to do somethings because my big belly gets in the way of bending over and whatnot,  so my next few projects might be a little lighter and smaller. I am happy with how the back deck/porch/yard have turned out though. Now I am just anxious to host a party to show off all my hard work. :-)

Mommy Needs a Break Meals/Snacks

Week 24

The weather has been kind of crummy this week,  so I put my outside project on hold and decided to try and tackle a few of those freezer crockpot meals that we all have Pinned on Pinterest.  Spending about $100 on meat, veggies,  fruit, and misc mixes and spices, and 3 hours in the kitchen, I was able to make 8 days worth of fruit smoothies for breakfast and 22 crockpot meals. I also spent a half hour making pre-made snack bags for Zayden because like most kids, he eats more snacks then he does meals. This will definitely save me time because we are always out and about, and on the go, and grabbing a couple healthy snack bags will be much easier than throwing tons of food in my purse as we are walking out the door.
But to be completely honest,  as I get further along in this pregnancy (31 weeks), I am getting more tired and lazy about making good meals every night.  I'm sure once baby Sylas gets here, I will feel even more tired, so I'm hoping I will be able to do a round 2 of Freezer Food Day before he comes. It was so easy to do, I'm just hoping they all turn out yummy!
Frozen strawberries, peaches, raspberries, and fresh banana smoothies.  Just add 1 cup milk and blend.

Here are some of the websites where I found my recipes for:BBQ Chicken Drumsticks

Here are the snack bags I made.

Cinder Block Bench

Week 23

This week I made a bench using cinder blocks, a couple of 4x4s, some left over paint and a recycled bench cushion.  I got the idea from Pinterest.com,  and added my own adjustments. I used the same paint that I used for the wood swing and rocking chair a couple weeks ago to match and make our backyard deck/porch pop with color.  Next week I will be transforming barstools into end tables in matching colors to complete my outside decor.
Here is what I used:
10 cinder blocks
Left over Semi gloss Exterior paint
2 4x4x8s sawed in half
Bench cushion from thrift store
2 Outside pillows on sale
Total cost: $40 and half of that was just on the pillows.
