Wood Snowman Family

Week 46 (a little early)
I had my husband cut up some old 4x4s that were laying around the house,  not really knowing what I would be using them for.  I searched Pinterest for some winter themed ideas, and this was my first thought.  I decided to sell them $25 a set and will allow for customization I'm how many snowmen and the option to add their family name to the base.  Pretty cute,  and so easy.

Reversible holiday sign

Week 45
The weather is pretty crummy today so my son and I worked on some simple Thanksgiving crafts.  Zayden made a turkey out of scrap wood and popsicle sticks. He painted and glued everything all by himself,  I just guided him through the steps and painted the face and feet for him.  He did a great job and made mommy proud.
I painted a reversible holiday sign,  one side thanksgiving,  and the other side Christmas. I found some little holiday craft add ons 50% off at Hobby Lobby,  total cost being under $5.  I need some better stencils for my next project,  but not bad for spur of the moment afternoon crafting with my kid. 

Repurposed old window

Week 44

Repurposing old windows is one of the latest crafting trends of the year, so I decided to hop on that band wagon.  I found an old window at a online garage sale for $20, and thought I would combine a couple different ideas I had seen into one project.  Using scrapbook paper and letter stickers, I laid out the background to be a dry erase board weekly calendar, leaving space for some pictures.  It was originally meant to be a gift for my mother for Christmas,  but it may be too big for her to haul back to Georgia. Darn,  I guess I'm stuck with it. 😀

Fall Decorations (part 3)

Week 43

This week I found a great deal on burlap 8x8" canvases at Michael's, 80% off. With some acrylic paint and a few sunflowers from my scrap fall garland I bought on sale last year, I was able to make all 4 for $4 total!  I'm not a very good painter, so I think the 3D effect of the artificial sunflowers and leaves hides my poor painting skills pretty well and I love the deminsions.

Fall Decorations (part 2)

Week 42

Last year after Thanksgiving,  I bought a couple of fall garlands that were 80% off. This year, I decided to take apart one of those garlands and use the miscellaneous pieces for different decoration projects.  I used a bunch of berries,  sticks, and leaves to fill my candle holders. I then used the rest to make my first fall wreath.  Normally,  wreaths can cost $60 and up, but by making my own, I only spent about $10.  I'm pretty proud of my first attempt and only hot glued my fingers together a few times.

Fall Decorations (part 1)

Week 41

Last week my 3 year old and I built our first scarecrow. I also decorated our front porch for fall.
