My new year's resolution for 2014 is to create a new project every week this year. That's 52 projects in 52 weeks! Let's see if I can do it!

Repurposed old window
Week 44
Repurposing old windows is one of the latest crafting trends of the year, so I decided to hop on that band wagon. I found an old window at a online garage sale for $20, and thought I would combine a couple different ideas I had seen into one project. Using scrapbook paper and letter stickers, I laid out the background to be a dry erase board weekly calendar, leaving space for some pictures. It was originally meant to be a gift for my mother for Christmas, but it may be too big for her to haul back to Georgia. Darn, I guess I'm stuck with it. 😀

Fall Decorations (part 3)
Week 43
This week I found a great deal on burlap 8x8" canvases at Michael's, 80% off. With some acrylic paint and a few sunflowers from my scrap fall garland I bought on sale last year, I was able to make all 4 for $4 total! I'm not a very good painter, so I think the 3D effect of the artificial sunflowers and leaves hides my poor painting skills pretty well and I love the deminsions.
Fall Decorations (part 2)
Week 42
Last year after Thanksgiving, I bought a couple of fall garlands that were 80% off. This year, I decided to take apart one of those garlands and use the miscellaneous pieces for different decoration projects. I used a bunch of berries, sticks, and leaves to fill my candle holders. I then used the rest to make my first fall wreath. Normally, wreaths can cost $60 and up, but by making my own, I only spent about $10. I'm pretty proud of my first attempt and only hot glued my fingers together a few times.

Fall Decorations (part 1)
Week 41
Last week my 3 year old and I built our first scarecrow. I also decorated our front porch for fall.
