Week 40
This past week I went a little overboard with the Halloween spirit. I dug through my box of dress up clothes and costumes from years before and with only spending about $25 on accessories, I was able to come with quite a few quick, effortless costumes for my two boys. They were both really good sports and let mommy have fun without too much huff and puff.

Dollar Store Knight Costume |
Ok, these outfits were too cute to pass up, and they can wear it all football season, not just Halloween season. :) |
This Construction worker vest and hat were found in the pretend clothes box. |
Team Umizoomi, my son's favorite show. Easy to do, I cut 2 plastic pumpkin trick or treat buckets and Legos for hats, and made a shape belt with cardstock paper. |
$3 Pumpkin onesie and 50 cent hat that I glued a green feather to to look like the top of a pumpkin. |
I actually did buy this shark costume from Walmart, but you can see the head is too big, so I returned it. |
This was my brother's when he was little. I think it's more for winter time, but it works. |
The boots were a gift, we had the flannel shirt and bandana. The vest was $3, and the hat and toy gun- $6, the mustache, $1. He would look like Woody from Toy Story without the mustache. |
Wreck it Ralph and Fix it Feliz were fun and easy ones made with clothes we already had. I added "thick" eyebrows to Ralph for effect. |
Easy Kitty- $1 headband |
Here is one of my fails. Painting squirming kid's faces is hard!!! |
King Candy. The cape was a gift, and the crown is from Chuck E Cheese that he got from his birthday. |
The Policeman is one of my favorites. The onesie was a gift when my older son was a baby. I had bought the mustache pacifier when he was born. I think he looks more officer-like with a mustache. :) |
The pirate was another fun one. We already had the skull and crossbones onesie, which was the inspiration for this costume. The eye patch, bandanna, and hook were in our pretend clothes box, I just cut a pair of red pants and a red onesie to make the pants and vest. I added a little 5 o'clock aftershave beard for effect. |
These costumes were bought this summer for our family pictures that were taken in superhero theme.(see below) |
The hippie costume was easy. We had the Grateful Dead onesie. I just bought the sunglasses and headband for $5. |
This Batman costume is actually just a bib with a cape and hat that was a gift. |
I saw the red and white striped onesie in the drawer, and just knew I could do Where's Waldo. The glasses are pipe cleaners. |
My son had the turtle hoodie and the shell is actually a pillow. The only thing new was the mask that he got for his birthday. |
Big brother's way too big cowboy boots, flannel shirt, and straw hat that is meant for decoration I think. Not sure when and why I have that hat. |
This was a fan favorite. Easy to do, we had the wigs already from old costumes. |
I bought this last year on clearance for $3. What a deal! |
This is a skunk hoodie that I bought years ago for my older son. |
Finally, my last FAIL. I tried to follow directions to make this dog face....it's just too hard to do when your kid is constantly moving. oh well, nice try, and he LOVED it. |
