Scrap Fabric Designs on Canvas

Week 3 Project 3

This week I decided to start playing around with some canvases since Hobby Lobby has a great deal on 2 16x20 canvases for only $7.99.  I had a bunch of scrap fabric from previous projects laying around (JoAnn Fabrics also has scrap squares of almost every design, color, and fabric for a couple bucks each.) that I wanted to use for something, so I thought I would play around and here is what I came up with.

So including the $8 I spent on the canvases, and the couple of dollars I spent on fabric glue, these two projects were very inexpensive to create....except that I did have to buy a new pair of Fiskar scissors that were $18!  That's ok, they will last and cut the fabric very smoothly and sharply without fraying.  I am not one for patience or measuring, so both designs are eyeballed for the most part, but I like the abstract, imperfectness about them both.  Once I had the fabric cut, I laid it all out, and used fabric glue piece by piece.  Once dried, I decoupaged it all, and let dry.  Wala! They are ready to be hung!
