Coffee Table Pizazz

Week 29

I'm trying to find easy and cheap projects to fill the second half of the year since I may have my hands full with a 3 year old and a new baby. This week I found a discontinued IKEA coffee table at a garage sale for $15. It was in pretty good condition,  and thought it was definitely something I could work with.
I didn't do much to it, but a little bit of paint and some decorations were perfect for completing the look of our spare bedroom.
The decorations were from an old box of potpourri along with a few other odds and ends that I had laying around.
I had just enough extra stuff to fill a bowl on top of the table too.
Total cost of table,  paint, and misc decorations: $25

Tie Dye

Week 28

While cleaning and organizing my linen closet, I came across a plethora of old white pillowcases. I knew there just had to be something that I could make or use them for. After a quick search on Pinterest,  I found a cute way to make pillowcases into boho styled purses. Since mine are white and dingy, I automatically thought about tie dying them. And since I was going to dye them, I decided to do a few baby onesies and t-shirts for my sons too.  I made one purse so far, but I am going to play around with the other pillowcases still to see what else can be done. I'll add more finished product pictures then.

Nesting

Week 27

This week my project,  though not very interesting,  was very necessary for this 34 week preggo. Nesting is just one of the many things that signal the end of pregnancy is near!

I've checked off most of the things on my to do list this week which has resulted in major swelling of my legs, and a bit of exhaustion,  but also a sense of accomplishment.  This is what I've done the past few days:
-Deep cleaned the bathrooms

-Organized the closets

-Packed hospital bags for me and baby,  and overnight bag for Z, just in case.

-Vacuumed car

-Put carseat in car

-Washed the baby clothes

-Set up baby monitor

-Wrapped "brother gifts" (presents I got for each boy to give to each other when they meet for the first time.)

Next week I just have to get an oil change and the carpets are getting cleaned.  We still have a few things left to do, like paint the living room and get the cats updated on their shots, but the majority of stuff is checked off the list, which is a great feeling.

Half Way There -26 Weeks Recap

Last week I completed my 26th week of projects this year.  My goal, and the point of this blog was to do 1 project a week for a full year.  With 52 weeks in a year, I am half way there.  I am anticipating some lag when Baby Sylas is born in less than a month and a half, but I am going to do my best to keep up with it, even though they may be smaller, easier projects.  Here are some pictures of my completed projects so far.  Click on the description to link back to the original post for details and more information.
